At Beauty by Nature, we truly believe in doing things differently. We trust your intuition when it comes to skincare just as much as we trust the products we create—crafted with knowledge, care, dedication, and above all, love. Love for natural ingredients. Love for the women who choose us, again and again.
A few weeks ago, I attended a women’s health conference in Spain. The topics were incredibly diverse and thought-provoking, but one session in particular stood out. It was led by Ana Mayor, a medical doctor specialised in functional medicine. Her talk resonated deeply with the very heart of what Beauty by Nature stands for.
She focused on endocrine disruptors—those hidden chemicals that quietly make their way into so many of the products we use every day. Also known as E numbers, these compounds are commonly found in everything from food packaging to cosmetics, and they can interfere with our hormone systems in ways we’re only beginning to fully understand.
During the talk, someone mentioned an app that scans products and flags how many of these E numbers they contain. The next morning, I decided to start scanning—not out of fear, but out of curiosity and the desire to make more informed choices. Not perfect ones, just better ones.
First up: my beloved yerba mate. It scored a proud 90/100—almost perfect! Then came the toothpaste… not such great news. But when I scanned my essential oil serum, the screen lit up with a glowing 100/100. It confirmed what I already knew in my heart: when you choose natural, your body knows the difference.
But Why Does It Matter?
Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that mimic or block our natural hormones, particularly oestrogen, and can interfere with the body's delicate hormonal balance. Over time, even low-level exposure can have effects—especially for women, whose hormonal systems are already in constant fluctuation due to menstrual cycles, pregnancy, menopause, and more.
These disruptors have been linked to a range of concerns, including:
Hormonal imbalances
Fertility issues
Early puberty
Skin conditions like acne or dermatitis
Increased risk of certain cancers
And the truth is, they’re everywhere. That’s why choosing clean, transparent skincare isn’t just a trend—it’s a quiet revolution. It’s about taking back control in small but powerful ways.
At Beauty by Nature, we’ve always believed that less is more. Fewer ingredients. No fillers. Nothing to hide. Just nature doing what it does best.
So next time you reach for a product, remember: it doesn’t need to be perfect. But it can be better. Your skin, your way.
